Glencoe was Scotland's first formally developed skiing centre. It is situated in the historical and atmospheric glen where the infamous Glencoe Massacre took place in the 17th century. It is also where the Scottish ski and mountaineering museum is situated. There is a plentiful supple of local accommodation with prices to suit all pockets. |

During recent years substantial improvements have been made to the Cairngorm skiing facility with the village of Aviemore itself being considerably developed. Accommodation is plentiful with 12 hotels and 6627 tourist beds range from the basic to the luxurious. |

Due to the installation of a substantial dry slope and considerable investment in snow making machinery the Lecht can offer skiing all year round. Accommodation is not as plentiful as in some of the other ski centres with 500 tourist beds being available. There are three hotels. |

Situated next to Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis, The Nevis Range is Scotland's newest skiing centre. It opened for business for the 1989/90 season. The nearby town of Fort William provides many of the lively support amenities. |
