ACCOMMODATION:
Perthshire has a wide range of accommodation, from farmhouse B&B averaging £20 a head per night to caravans (£10 a night) to luxurious hotels such as Parklands next to Perth station. (£75 per night if two share).

If you want to stay out of town Ballathie Country House Hotel at Kinclaven (tel 01250 883268) has beautiful bedrooms, award-winning food and fishing rights to the River Tay. This country house hotel is well worth checking into for that special treat.

EATING OUT:

When it comes to wining and dining Perth has far more good restaurants than a town of 40,000 deserves. The multi-award-winning 'Let's Eat' on Kinnoull Street, and now 'Let's Eat Again' on George Street are excellent. 'Kerachers Fish Restaurant' on South Street is also worth trying for its fabulous fish and seafood, and 'The Italian Corner' on Princes Street is great for real Italian home cooking with something for all the family. 'Exceed' on South Methven Street (tel 01738 621189) is the latest restaurant with rave reviews. This restaurant recently won an STB Thistle Award for excellence.

Further afield in glorious Highland Perthshire, is Farleyer House nr. Aberfeldy (tel 01887 820 332). Superb fresh Scottish food with an average bill of £20 for dinner. For further information on the area telephone the Perth tourist office on 01738 450600 or vist the official Perth Tourist Board web site at http://
