Charles Rennie Mackintosh was born in Glasgow in 1868. As a student at Glasgow School of Art, he began working with fellow students Frances and Margaret MacDonald and Herbert MacNair. Their collaboration resulted in what was to become known as "The Glasgow Style".

In 1900, Mackintosh married Margaret and they worked together on projects all over Europe. He moved from Glasgow in 1913 and eventually settled in London where he worked till 1923. After a period of painting in France, he returned to London where he died at the age of 60.

Mackintosh's style, his use of verticals and horizontals combined with floral designs, holds a totally unique place, both in Art Nouveau and modern 20th Century design.

Glencairn Crystal Studio is proud to present this collection of designs to its ever expanding range.
