Hostel Facilities
Each location has much to offer the holidaymaker, whether you are visiting our beautiful country for just a few days or for longer. Check our reviews in Let's Go and other guide books for an independent view of our quality!
We are independent hostels you do not need a Hostels International, YHA or SYHA card to stay with us you can just book ahead and turn up for a fun time.
Each hostel is just around 10 minutes walk from train or bus stations/stops.
They offer excellent locations close to the local sights and nightlife, the most comfortable and welcoming accommodation for backpackers of all ages, and a pleasant, mature atmosphere (no school groups!).
The hostels are open all day till very late and have friendly staff and first class facilities.
The bedrooms are shared, single sex dormitories, varying in size from 4 to 16 beds (average 8 beds per room). Double rooms can be arranged at our Skye and Fort William hostels at a small surcharge.
Fresh bed linen is provided and changed regularly when guests have an extended stay no need to take a sleeping bag.
There are plenty of hot powerful showers and toilet facilities for everyone and you can even rent towels!
Valuables can be left with Reception for safekeeping and there are left luggage facilities for longer-term storage.
Laundry service is available at each hostel.
The hostels each have a self-catering kitchen and dining facilities. Breakfast is available at £1.40.
They also have comfortable, welcoming lounges a cool place to be in summer, warm & cosy in winter. In Skye, Fort William and Oban they even have real log fires!
All the hostels offer comprehensive information on what to see and do in the area - sights and scenery, tips and tours.
Bike hire is available at Inverness Student Hotel, Skye Backpackers, Fort William Backpackers and Oban Backpackers.

How to Book
New Year 2000/2001We recommend that you book in advance, where possible, to ensure availability of beds, particularly during summer and essential during August, Christmas and New Year and at Easter. PLEASE NOTE: Because availability can vary by the minute, we do not accept any e-mail bookings during these periods.Scotland is the home of Hogmanay. Unfortunately that means that it is a very popular place to visit at New Year. At the moment we are not taking any bookings for our Edinburgh hostels for New Year. Further details will be published on this page later in the summer.
Bookings for Easter, Christmas and New Year are not accepted more than 8 weeks in advance. A limited number of August bookings will be accepted from 1st June.
From mid July to the end of August we may be unable to offer guaranteed bookings for late July and August; We may accept a limited number of non-guaranteed spaces. Pre-payment is required for any "non-guaranteed" bookings but will be refunded if we are unable to provide accommodation.

We are happy to welcome groups between October and June but unfortunately cannot offer group bookings during the summer months. Scotlands Top HostelsRefund Policy
If you have not checked in to the hostel, a full refund will be given if cancelling before 11am.
If cancelling between 11am and 9pm and the hostel is full, a 75% refund will be given if the bed is sold, otherwise no refund is given. If beds are still available, a 90% refund will be given.
After 9pm, no refund will be given.
